Each antique quilt inspires a modern replica with both quilts photographed together. The modern quilts use fewer fabrics but aim to reproduce the original colours. There are many absorbing facts e.g. Double pink fabric was a red pattern printed on a pink background.
An interesting aspect is the close examination of the original blocks showing how the fabrics have faded and how the maker improvised to complete the blocks.
The fourteen quilts have simple blocks, Broken Dishes, Nine Patch etc. Most quilts have borders but a few have the backing brought to the front to finish the edges.
The instructions are easy to follow in diagrams and photos.
