About Lviv
Lviv in western Ukraine was founded in 1256 by King Danylo Halytsky, the king of the Halych-Volyn, principality. The city offers a glimpse into the old world, with its narrow walkways, eclectic architecture, and music playing freely in the streets.
The historical heart of the city, with its old buildings and cobblestone streets has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1998 while its youthful and energetic appeal is seen in the lively café society, especially in summer months when fresh flowers and street cafes dot every corner.
The wealthy historical heritage, the big number of festivals and city celebrations, strong national cultural traditions, and a city full of cozy cafes and restaurants gives Lviv the right to call itself the cultural capital of Ukraine. According to the latest CNN ranking, Lviv is one the best tourist cities worth visiting.
