Lucy Cavendish College is launching its first ever Fiction Prize Festival to give budding authors advice on how to write a novel and get published. And they are giving away a ticket to give away to the whole event.
Authors and literary agents will be running a series of talks and one-to-one sessions advising aspiring writers on how to become a bestselling novelist.
The festival has been launched to support the college’s fiction prize, which has started the careers of many well known novelists, including Gail Honeyman, author of Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine. Writers who wish to enter the fiction prize with the first three chapters op their book should visit lucy-cav.cam.ac.uk/fictionprize.
Our competition is for a voucher to come along to the first Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize Festival on January 19 for a day of talks, workshops and panel discussions, followed by drinks, book signings and a three-course dinner with wine. There will be tips about entering the writing competition on the day.
The festival will have talks from many of the published authors and agents connected with the Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize, including writers Sophie Hannah, Allison Pearson, Kelleigh Greenberg-Jephcott, Laura Marshall, Frances Maynard, Lesley Sanderson and Sara Collins. The festival is open to everyone, regardless of age, gender or writing experience. The value of the competition prize is £120.
