The Telegraph has partnered with Brittany Ferries to give away a fantastic ‘Glimpse of D-Day’ car or motorcycle tour for two people.
The D-Day tour provides a fascinating insight into the scale, ferocity and poignancy of Operation Overlord, the codename for the Allied landings on the Normandy beaches.
The prize includes return ferry travel to France for a standard car and two passengers from Portsmouth, Poole and Plymouth, and includes a standard four-berth cabin (on cruise sailings only, subject to availability). Three nights at the selected tour hotels are also included in the prize, as well as breakfast each morning.
Step back in time at remarkable museums such as the Museum of the Battle of Normandy at Bayeux, packed with artefacts, photos and information. Visiting the Arromanches’ Mulberry Harbour and the gun emplacements dotted along the coast provide reminders of the combat that took place here almost 75 years ago.
The beautifully maintained American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer is well worth a visit, while the extensive exhibits and displays at the Mémorial de Caen are not to be missed. The tour also offers the chance to take a trip to Pegasus Bridge, liberated by the British 6th Airborne Division glider unit, while Arromanches Cinema 360° Circular Cinema provides a different perspective.
