Time is so precious. While you can always make more money or buy more things, you just can’t make more time.
As I’ve gotten older and of course, had kids, time has never felt more sacred.
The tough times can seem so long (those sleepless nights certainly felt endless at the time) yet on reflection, life really does pass by so quickly, so much so, I honestly feel that my sons were just babes in my arms but days ago, and with a blink of my eye (that’s how long I’ve slept to be fair, in 7 years) here they are, now, sweet little boys with great big personalities!

I want to savour this treasured time with them, simply making memories and learning together, where we can. Those kids teach me so much. Patience for one, how to perfect shortbread! and together we have so much fun. I’m not sure I’ve laughed more than since I’ve become a mum.
A young family plus a full time job does mean however, that ‘me time’ rarely gets a look in, despite me knowing full well how much better I feel after getting some R&R (rest and relaxation) there’s never enough hours. The thing is when mama gets to chill out and feel more content, the whole family, benefits.
Nobody appreciates ‘moody mama’ and late nights burning the midnight oil can dampen my usually cheerful demeanour.
Plus, working late means I miss the marathon sessions of Suits, my husband and I like to watch together (the only telly we can agree on), so I’m making time-out more of a priority from now on, as I try and learn to wind down earlier more frequently.
That way I get more time to drool over Harvey Specter (win), and less time carrying out domestic chores by day (and let’s face it, they’re called chores for a reason, right?).
While I know there must be plenty of ‘Monicas’ out there who love a spot of cleaning, I’ve always been more of a Rachel, literally shedding tears over having to take the bin out!
Don’t get me wrong, the house is always clean, I just don’t enjoy the Groundhog Day of vacuuming, dusting and mopping which seem to consume my every day.
Ironing has never been a joy either, truth be told, that is, until I used the Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator iron which low and behold, has not just made me whizz through the ironing load, but has flipping well made me enjoy it too. Who knew? The speediness in which it glides makes ironing therapeutic and fun and believe me when I say that’s a sentence I’d never thought I’d write.
Not only has this miracle appliance given me a personality transplant (!) but it’s also halved my ironing-time compared to a standard iron.
Readers, without further ado, let me introduce you to this babe of a steam generator iron.
You’re looking at the world’s fastest, most powerful steam generator iron which as it’s done with me, will give you the #GiftOfTime, meaning you can spend less time ironing and more time doing whatever you fancy thanks to it. Hurrah!
(Plus, if you head to the end of this post, you can enter to win this steam generator iron worth £350 for yourself plus a £100 John Lewis Voucher!).
…Just the other week, I was faced with a mountainous pile of ironing after a half-term spent living out of suitcases in London and Windsor for the holidays.. Putting what felt like 25 washes on when we returned meant I’d postponed ironing until it was literally taking over our bedroom so I had to tackle it.
Come Saturday, the clothes pile was reaching astronomical proportions with holiday clothes and the rest of the week’s (I couldn’t get into bed) so it was time to take a deep breath and dive right in. Thanks to the PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator iron, a task that should have taken a week (you think I’m joking) was reduced to less than 2 hours (really), leaving me more time for my family, myself and Harvey Specter too, of course!
I made a film of my day from morning until night so you can follow me around and see how ironing with the steam generator saved me time so I could truly chill out with some me-time at the end of the day. Yay!
Here I share a day in my life as a busy mum along with a demo of the steam generator which gives me the #GiftOfTime aka frankly, the bath dreams are made of. I’m covered in bubbles, don’t worry Mum!
And what a 24 hours it was. Starting off the day cleaning dirty dishes from the night before whilst simultaneously making breakfast for the kids and my husband and I, meant I only got to actually sit down when it came to my weekly blow-dry with my friend Nina (alas I don’t just #wakeuplikethis)…Even then though, I didn’t take a breather as I caught up on work emails from my laptop and published a blog post. The joys of a multi-tasking #mumboss life hey!
The boys and I then raced around the green in front of our house, playing on the swings and getting some fresh air before the rain defeated us (and threatened my blow dry-eek) and we headed back indoors for some baking fun.
I’m smiling here but all I can think about is how Xander’s dripping cake mixture everywhere and right after I’d cleaned as well. Thankfully the delicious buns made up for the mess!
After all that scoffing, the kids watched a movie whilst Daddy prepared dinner for us all.
I headed upstairs to crack on with the ironing which thanks to the PerfectCare Elite steam generator went quicker than I’d imagined, leaving me with perfectly pressed pieces for all the family (and a chance to wear clothes we loved rather than mismatched items at the back of the wardrobe we’d been surviving on)..
Using PerfectCare is a bit like doing the supermarket shop in a Ferrari. You have to do it so you might as well ride in style, hey.
Plus, this steam generator iron is a total speed demon of an appliance. It works by delivering more steam than any other steam generator, penetrating deep into your clothes so you can speed through your ironing pile like Jenson Button on his way to Tescos (probs).
Vroom…
What’s more, the PerfectCare Elite steam generator comes with a ‘no fabric burns’ guarantee, which having ruined several vintage silk dresses from over-zealous ironing, is music to this fashion-loving mama’s ears!
And how does it keep your beloved pieces safe?
The steam generator has a smart electronic chip which ensures the soleplate stays at one perfect temperature at all times cleverly making it is safe to iron any fabric from silk to linen, with a vertical steaming option for jackets, and curtains too.
There’s no fiddling with a temperature dial either so you just iron all of your clothes on one safe setting.
With this bad boy, you’ll save a massive 40 minutes of ironing time a week, and if you’re not satisfied, there’s even a 60 day money back guarantee.
Check out the key features in greater detail:
Large 1.8L easy fill detachable water tank with empty tank indicator.
Quick Start: 2 minute steam ready, heat up time.
Vertical steaming: longer reach steam hose & safe glove accessory (GC9642, GC9650)
Silencing technology to reduce noise from the pump and steam – watch TV in peace. (GC9642, GC9650)
Safety Auto Off when the product is not used for 10 minutes
Safe carry lock, to securely transport and store your steam generator
Tested and approved by independent textile experts Woolmark, IWTO & DWI
With all that time saved, I finished the day off, the best way eve-er with a relaxing bubble bath in peace and quiet.
The ultimate indulgence, I lit scented candles and flicked through a hardback and my fave fashion mags, allowing my batteries to recharge, my toes to get wrinkly and my mind to relax after a busy day.
So how would you spend your #GiftOfTime? I’d love to hear in the comments.
