As well as travel and accommodation, the prize also includes:
- Sunset harbour cruise in Boston – See the sights of Boston Harbor aboard a 24 metre schooner as the sun sinks below the horizon. This two-hour evening sail will take you past many of the city’s waterside sites.
- After-hours tour of MoMA museum in New York – Your guided tour will take place after the museum closes to the public, so you can enjoy the artwork in peace and quiet. Your expert guide – a MoMA lecturer – will take you on an hour-long tour, highlighting the major works in the museum.
- Food tour of Gramercy, Flatiron and Union Square in New York – The food tour takes in the culinary highlights of the Flatiron, Gramercy and Union Square districts whilst also showcasing the architecture and history of the local area en route. Food stops change seasonally but may include sweet focaccia in Eataly, a Reuben sandwich at Eisenberg’s, grilled cheese at Beecher’s Handmade Cheese and chocolate babka at Breads Bakery.
- Tickets to the One World Observatory in New York – The One World Observatory deck is located at the top of the tallest building in New York. Enjoy spectacular views and witness the changing landscape of the city, from the 16th century to present day.
- Insider’s tour of the US Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. – On your tour around the US Capitol Building you will explore the Crypt, the Rotunda, and National Statuary Hall, and learn about America's growth into the country that it is today.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
- The prize is a trip to the USA for two people consisting of ten nights' accommodation: three nights at The Colonnade, Boston (bed and breakfast), three nights at the Bryant Park Hotel, New York (bed and breakfast), two nights at the Hotel Palomar, Philadelphia (bed and breakfast) and two nights at the Fairmont, Washington, D.C. (bed and breakfast). The prize includes transfers, return economy air travel from London to Boston; and airport and departure taxes. The prize also includes a sunset harbour cruise in Boston, an after-hours tour of MoMA museum in New York, a food tour of Gramercy, Flatiron and Union Square in New York, tickets to the One World Observatory in New York, and an insider’s tour of the US Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.
- Travel insurance, visa costs, excursions, personal spending money and items not explicitly mentioned in the prize description are not included. Audley can arrange tours for you, and we may be able to extend the trip, at applicable costs, depending on availability of flights.
- The prize is for two adults aged 18 or over and is based on sharing a twin or double room.
- The prize is valid for travel between 4 January 2019 and 31 August 2019.
- Winners must confirm travel arrangements with Audley Travel by 24 September 2018.
- All travel is subject to the terms and conditions of Audley Travel Ltd – a copy of these can be obtained by calling Audley on 01993 838 040.
- The prize and all elements included within it are subject to availability.
- The prize winners must hold valid passports which allow entry to the USA and will be responsible for obtaining any necessary visas.
- The prize is non-transferable and has no cash value.
- Only one entry per person is permitted.
- The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 or over.
- Employees of the Ashmolean, Audley or Woobox (and their families), and anyone else connected to the prize draw, are not eligible for entry.
- The competition closes on 23 July 2018.
- The winner will be notified by email on or after Tuesday 24 July and given details of how to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond within 7 days of being notified, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and another winner will be selected.
- The Ashmolean has the right to withdraw this prize draw at any time.
- The Ashmolean reserves the right to publish the name of the prize winner on its website and social media channels.
- Entry into this competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
