Who can enter?The competition is open to anyone except employees and immediate families of Highclere Castle, associated Highclere businesses, and Viking.
When does the competition close?Entries close on Friday, 6th September 2024.
How can one enter?To enter, participants must submit a review of a book of their choice, selecting from one of five categories: Travel, Biographies, History, Novels, or Children’s Books. The review should be between 500 and 700 words and must be submitted via email to
[email protected]. Only one entry per person is allowed, and the review must be in English.
What are the prizes won?The winner in each category will receive a cash prize of £500. Additionally, five runners-up will be awarded £100 each. The winners will be notified before the prize presentation, which will take place on Sunday, 6th October 2024, at the Highclere Castle History Festival. Winners may also be required to participate in media interviews and promotional material.
What is the total prize pool amount?The total prize pool amount is £3,000, which includes £500 for each of the five category winners and £100 for each of the five runners-up.
