WIN 2 tickets to Wise Words Festival Headliner Lemn Sissay on 7 May
Ends: Monday 24 April
Lemn Sissay, Wise Words Festival Patron and Headliner, presents Something Dark | A dramatic reading on 7 May 8:30-10:00 in THE HIDEAWAY, The Secret Garden, Stour Street, Canterbury CT1 2NR.
Wise Words are delighted that this will be Lemn Sissay’s first stop as he takes this dramatic reading of his acclaimed one-man play on tour. Shot through with lyrical beauty and sharp humour, Something Dark tells the story of Lemn’s upbringing, and his search for his family and true identity, after he was put into foster care by his Ethiopian mother. Originally directed by John McGrath (National Theatre of Wales), Something Dark has been performed across the world to great critical acclaim. To celebrate the publication of the play by Oberon Books, and its inclusion on the A-Level syllabus Lemn Sissay is offering Canterbury this opportunity to experience Something Dark before it goes on tour nationally. Presented in partnership with The Marlowe Theatre.
