The RAF Cosford Air Show, taking place on Sunday 11th June 2017, is one of the UK’s premier aviation events and the Royal Air Force’s only official Air Show. The 2017 event will be bigger and better than ever before with multiple hangars of interactive exhibits, an extensive array of military ground displays and an eclectic mix of aircraft displays!
The six-hour flying display will include an exciting mix of military and civilian aircraft from the UK and overseas, performing spectacular aerial displays. Highlights of the flying display show already confirmed include; the world’s only airworthy Westland Whirlwind helicopter, mock airfield attack from a pair of BAC Strikemasters and the rare appearance of the Swiss Air Force PC-7 display team.
This year the RAF Cosford Air Show has an operational theme of ‘Battlefield Support’ which will showcase the role of airpower, past and present, in supporting military personnel on the ground during times of conflict. As part of this theme the flying display will feature an exciting set piece featuring Skyraider, Bird Dog, Huey and Loach accompanied by spectacular pyrotechnics.

Another theme being represented at this year’s show is ‘Space’. With a hangar dedicated to the subject and displaying the advancements in space technology not only in the United Kingdom but throughout the world.
The Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths Hangar will once again be a focal point of the showground. Discover how diverse and varied the fields are with a large number of interactive exhibits allowing you to get ‘hands on’, gather information about future education opportunities, watch the fascinating shows on the stage and see just where your passions for all things STEM could take you.
One of the most popular ground attractions at the Air Show is the Vintage Village, which this year is themed around the 1960s. As well as a Vintage craft fair there’ll be the chance to listen to live music from the period, sample 1960s refreshments, surrounded by vintage vehicles and aircraft.
