In this Grand Opera Gala concert on June 3 2017, the Philharmonia Chorus give voice to some of the greatest choruses ever composed with performances of music by Wagner, Gounod, Puccini, Verdi, Offenbach and Bizet.
The concert commences with the dramatic Wach Auf! from The Mastersingers of Nuremburg, followed by the uplifting barcarolle from The Tales of Hoffmann and the Bridal March from Lohengrin.
Other highlights include the Soliders' Chorus from Faust, the beautiful Humming Chorus from Madam Butterfly, the iconic Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from Nabucco and the Anvil Chorus from II Travotore. The concert concludes with the inimitable Grand March from Aida - one of the most acclaimed opera choruses of all time.

The Grand Opera Gala brings together a talented ensemble of performers. The Philharmonia Orchestra are joined by the Philharmonia Chorus under the baton of Stefan Bevier. Acclaimed British soprano Natasha Jouhl performs the Easter Hymn from Cavalleria rusticana and is joined by tenor Peter Auty to perform the uplifting Brindisi from La Traviata. Baritone David Kempster completes the line-up to perform the Toreador Song from Carmen and the Te Deum from Tosca.
