If there’s one thing we get through a lot of in our home it’s snacks. The children eat snacks constantly, we eat a lot of snacks and we’re always looking for healthier options when it comes to the snacks we eat as a family.

We love subscription boxes – there’s nothing like a box of surprises coming to your door regularly! The Snack Box is tailored to your child’s age and activity level. You can even add preferences when it comes to different tastes. Each of the snacks are individually wrapped and perfect for having at home, in lunch boxes or taking for a day out. They’re easy to store and just so handy to have whenever your child is feeling peckish.
Each pack also contains nutritional facts, comic strips and a cardboard totem toy that you can collect and stack as the weeks go by. The whole pack is fun as well as being a lovely tasty treat for any child. LP and Little Man really enjoyed their snacks although some of the flavours were very new to them. The one thing they weren’t that keen on was flavoured raisins – they are happy with raisins tasting just like raisins. But apart from that the snacks were well received – everything from dried fruit to dried snacks and flapjacks.
All of the snacks in Chewy Moon are 100% natural, with no added sugar or anything else – just great tasting, natural and healthy snacks. They are also created by nutritionists who are experts in children’s nutrition which gives me faith that they know the sort of things that will be good for children to eat – packaged up in a really fun way for children to enjoy.
Once you subscribe to Chewy Moon you receive a special Family Box every fourth week of the month which includes two extra treats for adults. It’s nice for the grown ups to get something too and the snacks are just as tasty as the children’s options. Hubby and I really appreciated our snacks too.

There is something so nice about having flowers in the house and as we’ve been living with building work for the last few months when Prestige Flowers sent us a bouquet to review it instantly made our house feel much more homely again – and it was just the boost we needed.
I love buying flowers online but they are often so expensive and I usually get drawn to the same well known florists so when I had a look at the Prestige Flowers website I was impressed with the great value bouquets as well as the huge range of flowers – with ones suitable for every occasion.
Our bouquet arrived beautifully presented and in perfect condition. It came in a big delivery box and sat in a gift bag with the stems safely wrapped and with enough water to make sure they arrive with that florist-fresh look to them.
The flowers were simple to arrange in a vase, and there were so many stems that kept the bouquet looking so full and vibrant. The colours worked well together and the flowers smelt wonderful. At the weekend we were invited to see Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom Live at our local theatre. The show has returned to the stage for it’s 2017 season where it is touring the UK all the way through until the summer.
LP and Little Man love Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom, a popular show for preschoolers which airs daily on Nick Jr and on 5’s Milkshake. Having watched it so many times with the children it’s easy to see how it’s picked up numerous accolades including a BAFTA award, British Animation Award and an Emmy Award.
But Fiery Light Productions have brought all the magic of the TV show to the stage with this exciting musical adventure. Ben and Holly have fun and games helping Gaston clean up his messy cave; they go on a trip to The Big World with tooth-fairy Nanny Plum; and still have time to plan a surprise for King Elf’s birthday party, complete with an unplanned jelly flood.
LP and Little Man really got into the show. There was so much interaction, with a game of hide and seek, lots of songs and dances – the audience were participating throughout. Packed full of games, songs and laughter, Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom is an enchanting and magical visit to the Little Kingdom. It’s a beautiful story of elves, princesses and childhood innocence which LP and Little Man really enjoyed, laughing along and automatically recognising all their favourite characters on stage.
The children loved the show. It was fun, had light hearted and slightly darker moments and they were engaged throughout – really engrossed in the story and the characters. This is one of the first shows we’ve seen where the children didn’t get scared at any point and just really thoroughly enjoyed it. When it came to the interval they were sad that they thought it was over – and just so happy when they realised they had another whole half of the show to enjoy.
The show was about an hour and a half, including a fifteen minute interval which I think was the perfect amount of time for preschoolers. The show finished with a big finale full of singing, dancing and fun and the children talked about it the whole way home. If you have Ben & Holly fans they will absolutely love this show.

Anyone who reads this blog regularly or follows me on social media will know that we have spent the last few months having an extension built and although I am quite a laid back person there have been times where it’s all got a bit much – especially the never ending dust.
By the time the building work was coming to an end we knew that we needed help with the cleaning. Hubby and I had very little energy left and the extension, although beautiful, had so much that needed to be cleaned. It had plaster splattered everywhere, sawdust on the floor and just dust in every space imaginable. The lounge wasn’t much better – with the TV, toys and every surface caked in dust.
But, after having a Fantastic Services Deep Clean a couple of years ago we enlisted their help to clean our house, to do an official After Builders Clean. The clean is perfect for what we needed – they’re used to plaster splatters, dust, paint and everything else and they work out how many people and how many hours are needed to clean the space.
We asked them to focus on downstairs, just the hallway, lounge and new extension – incorporating the utility room and downstairs toilet and booked them in for a morning. We were given email updates throughout the process and they arrived bang on time, at 8am on the day we’d chosen.
They weren’t concerned at the level of cleaning needed, asking us what the priorities were and telling us they’d be done by lunchtime. My main issues were the dust and the floor in the extension. They said they’d wipe down all the outsides of the kitchen cabinets, the appliances and even clean the insides of the windows. The supplied their own cleaning products, even bringing a mop and hoover with them, and I happily left them to it.
When I came back the house was sparkling. The floor was the most noticeable part for me as it had gone from being caked in dust and plaster to being so clean. The washing machine, that had lived through the building work looked shiny and new and all of the cabinets were dust free. It looked like the extension I had imagined – and I couldn’t have been happier.
Our lounge and hallway were also dust free, with all the surfaces cleaned, all the windows cleaned inside and even our sofa pulled out and cleaned underneath – I had forgotten what a dust free house looked like but Fantastic Services gave us a lovely clean home again – and I really could have cried. It was such a relief after months of building work.

LP and Little Man have both gone up a shoe size in the last few weeks and so when Bobux sent them each a pair of their new Custom Kicks the timing couldn’t have been better.
Bobux Custom Kicks are shoes that you can completely personalise. They come with a set of pens and have a colouring book style design on them, letting you colour them in however you choose.
The Custom Kicks have velcro straps that make them easy to put on and take off and they are nicely padded around the ankle too, making them really comfortable to wear. They also have a really durable finish and, although they’re white, they don’t show up and scuffs or scratches – looking in perfect condition even after a day at nursery.
LP and Little Man were so excited that their new shoes came complete with a pack of pens in a little pouch and LP started colouring her shoes in straight away. Little Man asked me to colour his and it was just like colouring on paper. The pens went on well and had a really nice coverage, drying within a couple of minutes. It would have been nice to have more of a variety of colours but the five bright tones that we had were enough to create a lovely design – and neither child minded only having five colours to choose from.
Although the shoes have a waterproof finish, the pens aren’t waterproof and so the colour can wipe off – ready to be coloured in again. The Bobux Custom Kicks give endless entertainment allowing children to create new designs regularly.
LP and Little Man love their new shoes, find them comfortable and can use them for any activity. They are happy running and climbing whilst wearing the Custom Kicks and they love that they can colour them in – having shoes that are so different to any of their friends.
